But the major problem w/ this phone is that after a year or in my case 8 months the sliding mechanism gives out. People refer to this as 'white screen of death'. Actually, if you are technologically savvy it is more then that because you can do almost anything on this thing of beauty. People don't get this phone. But that i can sell it and make my money. Much has been written about this in nokia repair forums.
I did my research on the nokia website.
More specifically, there is a ribbon cable that is attached to the slider.
I am currently fighting w/ nokia so I can have them send me a new piece.
This phone is every bit great as people say it is.
Because soon after this happens, the phone completely gives out (in majority of the cases).
This ribbon cable in turn activates the screen when the phone is slid open (or closes is when slid shut).
But over the time this cable gets worn down and eventually the screen goes all white and you cannot see a damn thing on the screen.
Not so that I can use it again.
I had to give the phone 2 stars because the phone was awesome while it worked.
the product came just like new. works like new either. The only complaint is that when I tryed to order another they were all sold out.Good seller
I got this phone over the iPhone 3G due to the features its blessed with, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Infrared, USB, FM Radio, 3.2MP camera etc etc so I dunno it might not be able to touch the screen or rotate the screen but its a damn good buy and I love it. PS And the Bluetooth is not only available for the headset but also file transfer unlike the iPhone.
The internet was faster than other phones. The colors were great, the ability to download themes to it and screen savers too. The picture were above average.
It was great. Is been a whole year since i bought this phone.
But while the phone worked it was great. Unfortunately it finally gave up on me.
The screen went white and that was the end of it. I loved that.
Over all a great phone.
Mobile has to be Nokia, the durability, ease of use and reliability. I am very pleased with my n80 and now feel really came to the new world of super cell. I recommend the purchase by the cost benefit, as the n95 is still a fortune and never recommend the purchase of iphone because the ipod is unusual and iphone with certainty is still full of bugs. Nokia forever.
